Iconic Prop from Beloved Sitcom Set to Go on Sale

Fans of the long-running sitcom M*A*S*H will have the chance to own a piece of television history when the hat worn by Donald Sutherland in the opening credits goes up for auction.

The hat, a distinctive black beret, has become an iconic symbol of the show, which ran from 1972 to 1983. It was worn by Sutherland's character, Hawkeye Pierce, a wisecracking army doctor stationed in Korea during the Korean War.

The hat is being sold by a private collector who acquired it from the show's production crew. It is expected to fetch a high price at auction, with estimates ranging from $100,000 to $200,000.
